*UPDATE* The King Cakes were the best ever! They were for my husband and he said they were just as he had remembered from his childhood, maybe better! So yessss! This bakery is awesome!
We had the Friday special that included a Swedish Dream cookie. Great lunch. The lace cookies, pecan cookies and thumbprint cookies are delicious and at about .60 cents each satisfy the craving for a perfect little bit of sweetness.
Family favorite for years and years! Gingerbread men are my fave and it's not a birthday without a Savage's cake!
Also, another great bakery. Smooth area and a great feel. Loved it
Original Review: I just placed an order for an 'out of season' cake, a King Cake. I called several places to make the request and I was practically laughed at hung up on! But Savages gladly took my call and was more than happy to whip it up from scratch for me. I don't need it until Saturday so I will update this post when I receive it.. But I just had to leave a great review for the ordering process. Margaret was lovely and ever so helpful! As long as my pickup goes great, I will be coming back here! And despite the other reviews, the price for the King Cake is actually cheaper than buying one in NOLA around Mardi Gras.
I cannot say enough great things about this place! A coworker had recommended it to me and the service is fantastic! They were able to add onto my order at the last minute and they are so friendly and helpful! Not to mention, everything they create is delicious! Can't go wrong with Savage's!
